the cards have spoken
Me and my blockmates went to Rob malate this morning to eat out. Our blockmates who were also alumni of plm carried along a friend who knew how to read tarot cards...Knowing how outrageously high the price of tarot card reading is, I grabbed the chance to have mine read by said friend, Chie.and here they are:=> my motherly instincts are always alertwell, if it is indeed alert, then it is also out of sync. I cannot recall any instance wherein I have put that so called motherly instinct into use.this also implies that I am a caring partner... hmmm...=> I'm going to meet my soulmate, yet I am too young, and thus inexperienced... hindi pa raw ready... great=> I'm bound to meet someone who will be my protector... *kilig*=> my academics and friends are okay... whewei, don't get me wrong... I still believe in God and free will.. trip trip lang 'to.

Vanity is the devil's favorite sin...
so forgive me folks, now that I have indulged...actually, I'm more conceited than vain... again, I apologize for indulging... but please understand that I've had more than my share of rejection--from guys, school applications, guys... guys... guys...I think you already know the picture...This afternoon, we played a game, more specifically, truth or dare. kind of high school-ish but heck, we were all into it so it's cool. Instead of a bottle, we used a huge paper airplane (courtesy of asid). whoever is struck by said airplane has to answer one cheesy question or face the consequence...The airplane landed in front of a male classmate...The question: Sinong pinakamagandang babae sa block natin sa paningin mo?Awkward silence.Followed by nervous laughter, a sort of release.Everyone was eagerly waiting for the answer.Another long stretch of uneasy silence. Then he said, "maganda lang, ha...""SI REBELHEART"akalain mo nga naman!!!!!ako yun!!!!hehehe....I know I'm certainly NOT the most beautiful girl in the class... sweet lang talaga ako kaya malakas ang appeal... (ilk!)

Another wake-up call
I really, really, REALLY have to install breaks on this mouth of mine... I am this ==> I--I close to getting in truoble because of the words I unthinkably (is there such a word) say. This morning, we had a small group discussion in our anatomy class... so we grouped ourselves and pored over Snell's Clinical Anatomy, 7th edition... Then my classmate asked where our prof was, so I said "Hayun, nasa likod, natutulog," to which he replied, "Shh... hinaan mo boses mo, naririnig ka." I laughed it all off, thinking my prof was fast asleep. Then come the laboratory in the afternoon... Our prof was handing out the results of the previous exam... When I approached him to get my paper, he said, "Sabi mo kanina, natutulog ako.. actually 36 hours na akong walang tulog." I didn't know how to react...I must have been really transparent... nahalata kasi ng prof na nagulat ako..."Joke lang... pero 36 hours na tlaga akong walang tulog. *smile smile*"Whew... sobrang nakakahiya yun... gusto ko na talagang lamunin ako ng lupa... sobra...
Let this be a lesson... be careful with your words...

SHIFTING EXAMS, FINALLY OVER
at ngayon, may hangover na naman ako... teehee...
oh, glorious feeling... i got through this week with nil a scratch on my ego (that would come next week, kapag nakita ko na results ng exams... ngayon, may time pa akong ngumiti).
THINGS I'VE REALIZED DURING THE EXAMS WEEK
=> magaling kami kumpara sa ibang section pagdating sa biochemistry. We had this system wherein each sections have different lecturers.
POST-SHIFTING PARTY
ate at chef's in rob malate with my wonderful blockmates... pictures galore... bundat sa pagkain... sarap pala ng seafoods pasta (can't remeber the exact name) nila dun.
then we went to archie's house... videoke... yeehee...
susunod na lang ang pictures...

L'amore e cieco (love is blind)
Phase one: The Encounter"If you smash into something good, you should hold on to it until its time
to let go."
Phase two: The Affair"L'amore e cieco"
"This sort of thing should come naturally."
"What is it about love that makes us all so stupid?"
Phase three: The Tribulations"Just because you have an upset stomach and a sudden urge to weep doesn't mean you made a mistake."
"Kurwa mash." (holy shit)
Phase four: The Disunion"Do you know what the most surprising thing about [break-up] is? It doesn't actually kill you, like a bullet in the heart or a head-on car wreck. It should.
When someone you've promised to cherish says, 'I never loved you,' it should kill you instantly. You shouldn't have to wake up day after day after that, trying to understand how in the world you didn't know."
Phase five: The Anguish"You know when you come across one of those empty-shell people? And you think, 'What the hell happened to you?' Well there came a time in each of those lives where they were at a crossroads, some place where they had to decide to turn left or right."
Phase six: The Acceptance
"Any arbitrary turn along the way and I will be elsewhere. I will be different."
"Regrets are a waste of time. They are the past crippling you in the
present."
Phase seven: The Recovery"All things will go on as they have before."
"You have to live spherically in many directions. Never lose your childish
enthusiasm and things will come your way."

FRIDAY IS THE MOST TOXIC DAY OF THE WEEK
this morning started out with a quiz, which is usually fine had I been prepared. eh hindi.
*MIGRAINE* *MIGRAINE* *MIGRAINE*
so as I was contemplating how unworthy I am of my lot in life, we had our laboratory about cardiovascular physiology.
two of the experiments made my blood run cold.
the first was the one wherein we had to kill a turtle and harvest the heart for the kymograph. It has been my utmost opinion that turtles are among the most adorable creatures on earth, next to cats of course. this is why I felt waves of repulsion as we were going through the procedure.
nilagari yung shell ng turtle (yung ilalim... di ko na matandaan term nun... bio friends, HELP!) nang di man lang ito binagyan ng anesthesia. we skipped that part of the experiment. weird thing was that by ANESTHESIZING, they meant CRUSHING THE HEAD OF THE TURTLE WITH PLIERS. no one among us was brave enough to do it.
thus my old argument about how ruthless the laboratory experiments are in the bio/medical field was strenghthened.
you really have to ignore that small voice saying that what you are doing is wrong. kailangan mong kalimutan ang awa mo. para lang sa GRADE. at para lang MATUTO. (yak, grade concsious. sorry ha.) it simply ruins the purpose of studying.
PRIMUM NON NOCHERE
which means "first do no harm" in Latin. motto dapat ng mga doctors, at mismong principle na na-violate namin sa experiment.
forgive us, oh kind and gentle turtle.
the second experiment which made me weak at the knees was the one wherein we had to get blood from the the arm of our classmates.
i got to practice on this sweet lady named alden. she is so slim that i didn't have to look for the vein. nandun na e, nakaumbok na. no problem there.
eh syempre, kailangan ko rin bigyan ng chance yung classmates ko na kumuha ng blood. this male classmate, archie, had the privilege of punching holes in my skin.
DALAWANG BESES NYA KO TINUSOK!!!! MAXIMUM LEVEL ANG SAKIT!!!! (akala ko lang pala)
ang masama pa dito. sa dalawang beses na yun, di nya na-hit yung vein. my classmate who took up medtech in college, kath, had to come to the rescue and conduct a probe, which hurt 10x more than the first two punctures. i totally lost my composure (as if naman meron). masakit... huhuhu... buti na lang di nag-collapse yung vein ko. i had this other classmate who had hematoma due to the experiment.
see. how toxic my friday is?
good thing i have the best detoxifying machine...

my blockmates... awww.... yung naka-yellow na jacket, yun si aileene... she held me while i was being punctured... for that, i am so grateful...sa hug, hindi sa puncture.. duh...yun naka-yellow na shirt sa front row, sya si alden. payat nya noh?yung naka-yellow&black na stripes, si kath yun. sobrang psychological torture inabot ko dyan bago sya nag-probe *May, hinga ka muna ng malalim...* nanay ko po...
mukha akong tanga sa likod. which brings me to this point: i have gained this reputation in school for looking silly... kaya meron na silang tinatawag na May Syndrome.May Syndrome: condition in which one looks silly in candid shots, constantly bites nails, looks blankly into space, and has skirt skewed to the sidegreat.

to hell with inconsiderate groupmates
some of my classmates are really starting to annoy me. groupmates ko pa naman. there is this one person who i thought was nice and responsible. at first, i had no qualms about working with this person. eh pagtagal. lumabas din yung totoong kulay. selfish sya, nang-iiwan ng grupo kapag alam nya na mas ok sa ibang groups. di man lang tumulong, bigla na lang mawawala. in fairness, ginagawa rin naman nya yung part nya, pero ngayon, asar na talaga ko sa kanya kasi hindi sya nagsend ng part nya sa lab report namin.bakit kasi kelangang alphabetical order yung groupings e.bad trip.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
survived four, that is, FOUR exams in anatomy today. yipee.
binagsak ko yung dalawa... hehe.
