Little Manhattan
The phrase in the posters and previews pretty much says it all: "Nothing is as big as your first love." This movie basically tackles the excruciating trivialities of love in it's first bloom: how a single phone call could spell your life, how simple benign gestures could elicit an anxiety attack, how one moment could make a difference in your life in just a heartbeat. No matter how enticing the story might be, though, do not watch this movie (I am assuming of course that you haven't yet). It's a total snorefest.Loved this line though."Love sucks."

living in the aftermath of the shifting week
fortunately, i've gone through the whole ordeal with nil a lesion in my cerebral cortex which would render me paralyzed for the rest of my life. that grand event is reserved for the finals, which gives me roughly two months to enjoy all of my higher brain functions and faculties.
i have realized that studying physiology could actually be fun. for instance, i have learned that:
i experience temporary lesion in my Broca's area everytime i face my crush
my prefrontal area, ventral forebrain branch, and limbic system is too well-developed for my own good. i might have to get it lobotomized one of these days. it's just too distracting, you know, having to deal with all the feelings i have come to associate with particular places and things.
painful stimuli should stay in the hippocampal area and shouldn't be consolidated for storage in the tertiary memory
painful stimuli already in the tertiary memory should undergo habituation in order to lessen the pain.
if i destroy the left area of my brain, i could finally release my artistic abilities, which, i would like to believe, have been overidden by the more logical and analytical left hemisphere.
the added stimulus in using highlighter while reading could actually help in storing information in the brain. and i thought it was a futile endeavor.
Yeah, physiology does rock sometimes.

no new year's resolution from May this time
no. nuh-uh. i always break them first thing in the morning anyway, so what's the point?
anyway... i have this question that has been brewing in my mind for a couple of days now...
WHY DO PEOPLE OF THE SAME AGE GROUP FEEL COMPETITIVE TOWARDS EACH OTHER?
why must they treat the other one as a threat?
have you ever experienced being introduced to someone, then you bring out your most accommodating smile only to receive a cold shoulder from the other? man, it's so infuriating. it's almost like it's a privelege to be aqcuainted to them. i dunno, maybe i seem snobbish or something... i really don't know...
