the problem: i expect too much

i heard a person say "always hope but never expect." i don't get it. what's the diff? enlighten me with this one...

i've been crushing on this guy for quite some time now... like, for nearly 3 fucking years. he doesn't know about it (or does he???) and we're in a sort of friendship where he sends me forwarded text messages and vice versa... i have bouts of euphoria whenever i see his name in my inbox... but this morning, i learned that he's sending THE SAME FORWARDED TEXT MESSAGES TO MY OTHER FRIEND. wtf!?!! that's it i won't talk to him again. when i see his name in my inbox, i won't read his message. i'll delete the message right away.

NOT MY LOSS!!!!!

okay... i'm trying to listen to the voice of reason here... i know i shouldn't expect him to treat me like i'm someone special... heck, it's still unforgivable, to let a fragile soul hope knowing nothing is to become of it. i won't forgive him, i'll just won't let him see that.
