homage kuno
graduation is so damn near, i could almost smell it (it stinks)... i'm feeling nostalgic already, so i'm going to write a homage to my university, dlsu:
i used to hate going here, way back in my "frosh" years. i abhorred walking your long corridors, going inside climatized rooms, sitting in those ergonomic wooden chairs, among the people who sucked eggs so much, they make me vomit (the girls i hang out and talk with don't count, because we all kick ass, even if most people would disagree. this is my site. go make your own if you want to conradict. wehehe... who am i talking to? 5 lang kayong nagbabasa ng blog ko.). i had a hard time fitting in, because everyone was so into the particular shit you learn to like because everyone else likes them in school. i wasn't from an exclusive school. from where i came from, no one's heard about gadgets and obscure artists and foreign tv shows you only get to listen to when you come from rich ass schools. yep, all those people think they're so cool, just because they submit to the shitty "in" thing. so i keep pretty much to myself and hate everyone else in school, which i'm very thankful i did, and am still doing now, because i was able to stir clear from all of their superficial and artificial coolness.
the cliche "adversity builds character" rings true. because of all the shitheads i encountered in the university, i learned methods of dealing with them:
=> play along. when they are talking to you, and they're so full of themselves, thinking that they're the greatest and everything they do rocks, nod in agreement to EVERYTHING, but never say a word. they will eventually get bored, because you're not praising them enough, and they will go away in search of other people to dominate.
=> let them talk for, say 10 minutes. then act stunned, and say "may sinasabi ka?" or "ako ba kinakausap mo?" watch how they react, then gloat silently.
=> stare blankly into space. or better yet, feign sleeping.
=> interrupt by asking the time. tapos alis ka kaagad.
these methods are more of the passive type. i still haven't learned a way of confronting people and telling them flat out that they suck and they're boring the shit out of me, in a nice way of course. i don't think i ever will master that technique, because it is impossible to piss someone off in an educated manner.
ay, homage nga pala 'to.
in closing, i would like to say that i still have much to learn in the art of stirring clear of pricks and dickheads, but with what i have learned in this universtiy, i think i can survive out there. with that, i thank dlsu.

in an unrelated note, i would like to greet someone.
